Mommy Hunt

It took me quite a while to start writing this introduction for my blog. Besides having a passion for instant gratifications, I also happen to love procrastinating. So, in other words, I won’t start unless I know I will complete it in one sitting. If not, I will keep delaying the project. Then, there is the perfectionist part of me where I want to make sure that this blog entry will be so perfect that I will receive a phone call from a huge production company the next day with an offer to make a mega movie out of it. Then, I end up being a worrywart, fretting over how I should word every sentence to make it a most enjoyable blog reading experience for my readers. Urmmm, or readers to be.

And when I finally sit down, determined to do some serious writing, my 5 month old, an otherwise precious little angel, Elise decides to throw the fit of the year, demanding undivided and constant attention, leaving me at her beck and call for 4 continuous hours. At the end of it, I could barely see, let alone write. Oh well, that kind of does sum up my life- Unpredictable.

I am a 30 year old Singaporean woman with a marketing and advertising background. I lived in New York City for 5 years before I fell in love, had a fairy-tale like romance, got married and moved to Texas.

How it began:  I used to be a workaholic in my marketing career until I made the decision to be a full time stay-at-home mom. Being in a completely different environment, with a whole new lifestyle, I found myself struggling to adapt to all these changes in my life. I dove into my new lifestyle with an open mind and heart and I decided to start this blog as a hobby, as well as a gift for my beautiful family. During my pregnancy, I came across the wonderful value of coupons when one of my BFFs, Nicki mailed me some Babies R Us coupons to use. Upon further research, I found out that the coupons were stackable and I saved almost half the amount I would have spent without the coupons. This began my love affair with coupons, and later on, freebies.

I have never took the time to tell you how much I love, appreciate and treasure you. I respect and admire your strength, kindness, love, morals, values, and all that you are. Being raised by you was the greatest gift and blessing I could ever have. I thank you for all that you have ever done for me. I am forever grateful for your unconditional love and all the sacrifices you’ve made for me. I am so proud that you are my mother. Now that I am a mother myself, I hope that I will be just like you! (Yes, even the nagging and ‘ridiculous 6pm curfews’ part!) I love you!

 I have been formally warned by my younger sister, Eugenia, aka the ‘most beautiful and sweetest woman on earth’ , that I may not stay alive to finish this blog if I do not have a honorary mention of her highness on my blog, with a most complimentary photo of her. I seriously considered uploading a childhood photo of her sporting a boy haircut, drowning her ‘multilated’ doll with her drools. Then again, Elise still needs her mother.
